Managing Business During Health Crisis

Speaker 1

Hello superheroes. Today I want to share something deeply personal, something I've been navigating quietly behind the scenes, but now it's time to bring you into the circle. I've been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and renal cancer. Before you worry, let me reassure you. Cancer Before you worry, let me reassure you. Both cancers are contained, treatable and under active management. I am working closely with an excellent medical team and, thanks to early detection, the outlook is positive. But I know word is starting to circulate in the community and I want you, my clients, listeners and peers to hear this directly from me.

Urgent Health Message for Entrepreneurs

Speaker 1

Many people have asked me Angela, how are you managing the business whilst going through all of this? Here's the honest answer. I've been preparing for this kind of challenge for years, even without knowing it. Systems are everything Our unicorn system, our compliance automation, our standard operating procedures. These aren't just nice to haves, they're what vivacity allows vivacity to run smoothly and even when I need to step back temporarily, empowered team members. I've built a leadership team that knows how to step up, and I'm so, so grateful for my team. They're not just following instructions. They believe in the mission, the vision and the work we do for RTOs, prioritisation and focus. I've learned to be razor sharp about where I put my energy. There's no room for busy work. I focus on the tasks that truly move the needle and trust my team with the rest Clear communication. I've kept the lines open with my staff, with my clients, with my family. Everyone knows what's happening and where they can get support. Running a business while facing cancer has shown me just how resilient Vervacity is and how resilient I am, and I want you to know we're not just surviving, we're thriving.

Leadership Lessons from Illness

Speaker 1

If I can share just one urgent message today, it's this Do not ignore your health. As business owners, we push through pain, brush aside symptoms and tell ourselves we'll deal with it later. But if it weren't for my doctors acting quickly on seemingly minor signs, I wouldn't be in the fortunate position that I'm in right now. Get your regular health checks. Speak up when something feels off. Don't let your business ambitions silence your body's signals. Your health is not a distraction from your business. It's the foundation that makes it possible.

Speaker 1

Navigating this dual path of health and business has reshaped how I see leadership. Vulnerability is not weakness. Sharing what you're going through builds trust and connection. Strength comes from systems and people. You cannot carry everything alone, nor should you try. Clarity is everything. When faced with the biggest challenges, you quickly see what really matters. For me, that's my family, my team and the incredible RTO community that we serve.

Final Thoughts and Call to Action

Speaker 1

If you're facing your own challenges health, financial, emotional or otherwise I want you to know you are not alone. Being a business leader doesn't mean you have to be superhuman. It means you need to know when to step back, when to ask for help and when to trust the systems you've put into place. I'm walking this path right alongside you, and Vivacity will continue walking beside you, helping you navigate the new standards, strengthen your compliance and grow your organisation. Let me leave you with this Book that health check. Take the pain seriously, set up the systems and team structures that let your business thrive, even when you need to step back. We are all superheroes here, not because we never face challenges, but because we rise to meet them, and we do it together. Thank you for tuning in to this RTO Superhero Podcast.
